Assessment Scaffolding

Flashcards

Flashcards introduced each shortcut in a simple, low-pressure format, giving learners quick initial exposure.

Context

This project was a self-initiated piece designed to strengthen my skills in Articulate Storyline and digital learning design. I wanted to create an opportunity to practice building interactive, learner-centered experiences outside of a client brief, while experimenting with visual design and instructional flow.

Process

I designed the course to be short and visually engaging. To cover 8 keyboard shortcuts, I split the content into two manageable sets. Each set followed a three-step scaffold: flashcards for initial exposure, a drag-and-drop activity for practice, and a final task requiring learners to perform the shortcut on the keyboard.

Tools Used

Drag-and-drop

Drag-and-drop activities required learners to apply their knowledge with less guidance, reinforcing recall through interaction.

Final Keyboard Task

Final keyboard tasks challenged learners to perform the shortcut directly on the keyboard, simulating real-world use and testing retention.
